25.03.2020 A07-Beacon as a central component of a construction site information system

Within the scope of the GeoNetBake project, funded by the German government, the first A07-Beacon sensors for precise geo-referencing of construction site beacons were handed over to the State Office for Roads, Bridges and Waterways (LSBG) of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in March 2020.

Alberding GmbH is one of three companies selected by the LSBG for the development of a pilot system for the precise localisation of road construction sites. The aim of the LSBG is to detect closed off construction site areas in real time and thus have a positive effect on the traffic flow by evaluating and processing this data.

The system consists of autonomously operating A07-Beacon sensors and the Alberding Smart Track data platform (cloud). Alberding GmbH has optimised the A07-RTK sensor for this application in such a way that it can be attached to the beacons as a sensor box with an integrated GNSS antenna. Using the SAPOS service, the A07 sensor sends precise geoinformation from the construction site beacons to the Alberding Smart Track platform. There, the position data of the beacons are evaluated, linked to a construction site polygon and made available to the Hamburg Urban Data Platform.
