Alberding Beacon.net

The Alberding GmbH has developed and commissioned several systems for DGNSS correction data generation and Far Field Monitoring in the inland waterway and maritime domain. These operational systems are partly very different in their extent and their complexity and show the variety of application possibilities of Beacon.net. The list below contains a brief description of the systems which has been realized during the last five-year period to the satisfaction of the customers.

Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV), Germany

Re-capitalization of the IALA Radiobeacon system for Inland Waterway Navigation in Germany, including:

  • Beacon.net base module (central server software, redundant, two data centres)
  • DGNSS Network module - Data processing to be based on a centralised approach, using the Virtual Reference Station (VRS) concept
  • Pre-Broadcast Monitoring module - DGNSS corrections to be integrity checked before transmission within the VRS server
  • Far Field Monitoring module - Quality control at eight locations in the coverage area
  • EGNOS data conversion module - Backup solution at IALA Radiobeacon site

Centre d’études et d’expertise sur les risques, l’environnement, la mobilité et l’aménagement (Cerema), France

Installation of a DGNSS correction data generation and Far Field Monitoring System for IALA Radiobeacon sites along the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts in France, including:

  • Beacon.net base module (central server software)
  • EGNOS data conversion module - EGNOS (EDAS) correction data processing based on a centralised approach, using the Virtual Reference Station (VRS) concept
  • Pre-Broadcast Monitoring module - DGNSS corrections to be integrity checked before transmission (Pre-Broadcast Monitoring) within the VRS server
  • Far Field Monitoring module - results to be sent back to the VRS server for centralised quality control

Urząd Morski w Gdyni (UMGDY), Poland

Installation of a Far Field Monitoring System for quality control of the transmission of IALA Radiobeacon sites along Baltic Sea in Poland, including:

  • Beacon.net base module (central server software)
  • Far Field Monitoring module
